GRATITUDE PROJECT

Feeling gratitude makes you happier and healthier!

Reflect on what you are grateful for by making a daily flag or paper chain link. Do this project alone or with your family and hang it in your home as a reminder to feel gratitude every day.

RECYCLED ART JOURNALS

Make a sketchbook by reusing materials around your home!

Artists use sketchbooks to practice drawing, explore art materials, plan bigger projects, and store ideas for future projects.
You can draw, collage, paint, or write on the pages of your sketch journal.
Gather different papers around your home that you can reuse. Be sure to watch the video in the attached lesson for demonstrations.

WINDOW TO MY WORLD

What do you see out your window?
What do you wish you could see?

Use your imagination along with the resources, videos and instructions below to create a 3-D window inspired by artist Betye Saar's "Black Girl's Window."

SILLY SELF-PORTRAITS

Collect objects around your home or outside to make a self-portrait.

Think about the different parts of your face while you look for objects. What could be hair? A nose or eyes?

You may want to find two of the same things for your eyes or ears…

Play with arranging your objects different ways to make the features of your face. Think about how the objects tell about who you are.

Take a photo of your favorite arrangement and share your self-portrait!
